An elegant Victorian mahogany x-framed stool with upholstered seat, c19th C.  This deceptively simple design of this stool is shown in the "London Chairmakers guide (Plate 6)" of 1823.  Made of mahogany,  concave upholstered seat, turned handrails and stretchers.  The stool is in good original condition with new upholstered seat in Timorous Beasties jute fabric
