Shipping Information

For smaller items 

Smaller items are shipped via the Royal Mail, Parcelforce or other courier and are sent fully insured and with tracking numbers.  In most cases, a signature will be required upon delivery.  

Shipping rates are calculated according to size and weight, and will be quoted on a case by case basis.   Please contact us to discuss delivery options and to get a quote. 

We aim to dispatch all smaller items within 3-5 working days.  

UK: 1-2 day courier / postal services

EU: 3-5 day courier services. Note that these items will be subject to the new EU / UK trading arrangements - see details below about VAT and customs fees.

US and Australia:  5-10 day courier services. See details below for VAT and customs arrangements.

For furniture (freight) items 

We prefer to ship any furniture items using couriers; it is the most reliable way of getting it to you safely.  We will need to provide you with a quote, depending on the size / number of items purchased, and the delivery address.  Note that the delivery cost is not automatically calculated for these items at check out:  shipping costs will show as £0. Please contact us to get a quote.

Where possible,  we try to deliver the furniture ourselves, and have regular delivery schedules to most parts of the UK.  Where that is not the case, we use trusted third party couriers. We can discuss the options available with you. Once your purchase is confirmed,  we will pass your details on to the courier, and they will contact you directly to coordinate scheduling and delivery times.  We are happy to assist you with any queries/issues you may have regarding delivery. 

UK Delivery guidelines:

These guidelines are for a one man courier service, fitting into a region-based delivery schedule.  Items can be delivered 7 days a week, depending on that regional schedule, so some flexibility is needed.  

London, Home Counties, Cheshire and Merseyside:  estimated cost £50-£80,  depending on size of item and distance.

Rest of mainland UK (including Scotland and Wales): estimated cost £70-£90, depending on size of item and distance.

N Ireland, other UK islands and locations: These are very location / carrier dependent , and will need an individual quote. Contact us to discuss requirements.

For larger, heavy items a two man courier service may be required. Our listings usually show where this is the case. Please contact us for a quote for delivery for these items.

EU Delivery Guidelines: We work with couriers and agents to ship items to Europe. This is usually a one man courier service fitting into a region-based delivery schedule.  Items can be delivered 7 days a week, depending on that regional schedule, so some flexibility is needed.  

Note that as of 1st January 2021 the trading rules between the EU and the UK have changed and new VAT and customs charges now apply to goods.

EU VAT: this is due on all items shipped to the EU with a value of more than €22. It is payable at the VAT rate of the destination country, and will be collected by the courier in the destination country prior to delivery.

EU Customs Duties and Handling fees: all our items are UK made, and so would not attract any customs duties. However customs handling fees will now be applied to all items. The fees differ by destination country - see local customs rules for details, and will be collected by the courier in the destination country prior to delivery.

Packaging

All our deliveries are carefully wrapped in a Furnisoft protective wrapping before dispatch. Our recommended couriers typically blanket wrap freight items for transportation. Additional packaging can be provided on request, and is subject to an extra charge.

Returns

We like our buyers to be happy with the items they purchase from us; please do ask as many questions as you need before making your purchase. If, for any reason, you are not happy with an item you have purchased from us, please get in touch. Items returned for a refund must be returned within 14 days of receipt, in the same condition as when they left us, and buyers are responsible for the cost of returning the item.
